8AM—Traditional (“Rite I”)—A quiet, formal service with an informal feel. Silence alternates with the spoken word, using prayers that date back to the 1500’s in Elizabethan English. Preaching is lively and folks are welcoming. Everyone is invited to share in communion every week. This service lasts about 50 minutes.
10AM—Contemporary (“Rite II”) with music—An “ancient and modern” experience as traditional organ hymns and chant alternate with contemporary pieces and global music led by guitar. Children and youth are welcome to stay with their parents throughout the service or participate in activities just for them, then join their families for communion. All ages are invited to share the bread and the cup every week. The service is generally over about 11:15. A warm welcome awaits you!
10AM—Children’s Chapel—During the first part of our 10AM service, during the school year, children ages 2-11 gather in a worship space just for them in our Preschool classroom off the breezeway behind the red gate. Just like the grown-ups they sing (boisterously!), pray together, and learn to find their quiet place with God. In Children’s Chapel kids absorb the stories of Jesus and God’s people through the interactive Godly Play curriculum and afterward preschool and elementary children engage the stories through crafts, activities and discussion. Nursery care is provided for babies and toddlers. Children then join their families in “big church” 15 minutes before the service ends for communion. During the summer child care is provided during the 10 AM service.
